A list of testimonies from the Blueprint Retreat 09 as a way to remind myself of what God did and has promised to do:

- Sabrina and Gloria and Stephanie coming to the retreat
- Saturday Night
- Connor felt the love of God and took the initiative to go pray with Jeff and Derek
- Julie came back from going to the cabin to sleep and went instead to pray with us until 11:30! A very divine appointment, and I witnessed her experience with the love of God as well.
- All of us prayed for Kevin's knee with such love and faith! Kevin's knee didn't hurt even after he climbed the mountain with us. Praise God!
- Kevin's encounter with God and his newfound determination to serve Him
- Derek coming back into a relationship with God after a summer of being away.
- God restoring His joy into my heart through 15 minutes of laughter.
- The boys praying and encouraging each other in the faith all throughout the retreat.
- Jeffrey's journey of battling doubt and hesitation over his baptism, only to triumph in the end!
- Him remembering a dream from a year ago fulfilled when I asked him to give me a hug right before we went to the waterfront for his baptism.
- Gloria's wonderful God-sighting that didn't need words
- Being encouraged by the wonderful staff of Camp Herald.

Today is exactly one week from Christmas, and my beloved cold and angry city has been transformed into a life-sized snow globe of happiness and cheer.  I am honestly not a huge "Christmas person" in the commercialized sense, but the holiday spirit crept up on me this year and made itself evident in the multiple trees and lights that have sprung up in my living room despite my best efforts to keep my cool.  As I reflected on my newfound yuletide cheer, I think I felt this way because I needed to celebrate something.  I needed to feel a gentle wave of peace wash over me every time I walk into my home, surrounded by the warm glow of stringed lights.  I needed to remind myself that there was so much beauty in this year, in spite of the darkness and in spite of the cold. What a Wonderful World

Sitting in front of this blank screen with my eyes closed, I reach back into my memories for moments of beauty to crystallize with words and share with my small online world.  I have recently discovered that the intentional remembrance of small wonders in daily living can help me endure the monotony of routine, the pangs of loneliness, and the crush of disappointment that sometimes meet me along my way.  This meditative thought-gathering starts in my mind, travels through my heart, and settles into my soul, which in turn reminds me that it is well.  All is well - this life brilliant in its beauty and pain - and my God is good through it all. One of my clients is a teenage girl who sits in my office every other week and declares, with equal parts conviction and despair, that this world - and in turn her whole life and future - is boring.  She loses herself in novels and movies, and is deeply afraid of turning her attention back to reality for fear that the bleakness...

Wedding Planning is not Marriage Planning

Three months ago, I arrived at JFK bleary-eyed and frazzled after a 2 hour flight delay, and walked into a lobby filled with my closest friends and family.  My bewilderment was quickly replaced with excitement as I realized exactly what was happening: Jesse was proposing to me.  As much as I knew that we were heading towards marriage, when the proposal actually happened I was still stunned and surprised.  I said yes, of course, and was immediately engulfed by joyous cheers and warm embrace of Blueprinters, childhood friends, and family.  The memory of all the unrestrained expressions of love and excitement for me still brings a tear to my eye.
